Yosemite Falls

The first day to our visit in California we were treated to a visit to Yosemite National Park. Having been a resident of the east coast my whole life I was blown away by the beautiful trees and amazing mountains.

Vista Point
There was a fire burning in one section of the park that created a dense smoke that almost looks like fog. It wasn't too difficult to breathe, but you could definitely feel the smoke with some watery eyes. It was sparked by lightning and discovered at the end of July. It has been titled the Avalanche Fire and hasn't affected any homes. We saw a few helicopters carrying water troughs to drop on containment areas.

Bridalveil Falls

To start our hiking we went to visit the lower Yosemite Falls. It is a short, paved hike to the bottom. Many people were enjoying the water and hiking up through the rocks.

Yosemite Falls
It was beautiful. Not too warm, slight breeze. Perfect for enjoying one of the most beautiful falls on the west coast.
